How long does it take a fish to change coloration based on food?

is it healty to feed just one type of food?

    ok i feed my clowns
Live brine shrimp (feed every other week)
    Prime reef flakes (Daily)
H2O 50/50 Frozen mix (Every other week)

But i want to have there diet different every day

    something like this

    Monday- Prime Reef Flakes
    Tuesday- Live Brine
    Wensday- something different
    Thursday-something different
    Friday-something different
Saturday-Frozen (Water Changes are on Saturday)
    Sunday-something different

so what elese could i feed them to get good coloration
And what are your experiences with food and how they effect coloration

In all honesty I really think food/coloration is WAY over rated and is simply a way to help sell food by vendors. That being said, the vitamin and nutritional content would be a lot more important than the actual type. Soaking the food in a little selcon and vitamin mix would go a lot farther than choosing what type of base food.
But a nice diverse menu is a good thing IMHO. My fish get mysis, brine, bloodworms, krill, shrimp, scallops, and clam in the way of meaty items. Nori, red, green, brown, and spirulina algaes complement whatever is in the tank naturally along with broccoli for veggies. I soak all my food in garlic, selcon, and a multi vitamin. I alternate days between veggie and meats.

I've used ORAglo in the past and while I think it does help deepen the colors of clowns a little, I think its color has more to do with health and genetics of the fish. Also, if you do decide to use ORAglo, be forewarned, it will muck up your water pretty quickly. It's full of fats, so use it sparingly.
