| Stylophora | I have noticed that every time I dose with DTs I find a small aptasia in my tank. It is extremely small and most people wouldn't even notice it. Does anyone else encounter this problem with DTs? Iccan go 2 months without DTs touching my tank then two days after a dose I have a baby aptasia. Thoughts? |

| 3reef Moderator | probably already in there , but the introduction of the DTs caused a feeding reaction and thus it extended itself, becoming more visible to you Steve _________ SPS takeover 75, GSP dominated 60. 5 gallon Nano, batteries not included. |

| Ooooohhh barracuda! | I recently emailed DT's with a question about their product and whether I was feeding too much and also whether it could possibly be tied in with some recent phosphate issues I had etc.. Below is a copy-paste of the email they responded with. By the way, they answered quite promptly - which I gave them points for ![]() Just thought I would put this in this thread in hopes that someone gets good info from it. QUOTE Hi Elizabeth, I have a statement on my website concerning the cleaning process that we do to remove nutrients and metals; DT'S PLANKTON FARM Concentrated & Cleaned Live Phytoplankton for the highest quality and value One of the important features of DT's Live Marine Phytoplankton is to provide clean, live and nutritious phytoplankton without the contaminants from the culture media used to grow it. Phytoplankton is grown in culture media containing; nutrients (nitrates and phosphates), vitamins, ferric chloride, EDTA, cobalt chloride, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, manganese chloride, and sodium molybdate. If the culture media becomes low in nutrients, phytoplankton will quickly loose its nutritional value Therefore, for phytoplankton to be at its highest nutritional value it must be harvested while the media is still high in nutrients. DT's Live Marine Phytoplankton is processed specifically for the safe use in ornamental and experimental aquaria. The closed system environment of an aquarium is especially sensitive to the metals and nutrients found in the culture media used to grow phytoplankton. DT’s Plankton Farm utilizes our proprietary concentration process in a cell washing procedure to remove nutrients and metals that are necessary to culture phytoplankton, without damaging the living cells. 7 steps to excellence

| Horrid Stonefish | Thanks, that is informative as I wondered the same thing as far as adding nutrients to the tank and algae. _________ "To read a newspaper is to refrain from reading something worthwhile.
