Default Snails!!!

We started a 10gal freshwater tank about 6 weeks ago, we started with a Guppy and a Dwarf Gourami. We also bought one live plant from Meijer, and now our tank is filled with snails, who are multiplying rapidly.

After a week we added another Dwarf Gourami, a Harlequin Rasbora, and another Guppy. All three of them, and our original Gourami died.

Could this have anything to do with the snails? And is there any way to get rid of snails? We're thinking about buying a new tank and rocks, and starting overwithout the live plant, and the snails!!

Thanks

Yea, we are planning on starting a SW soon. We are just trying to find a good acrylic bow-front tank. We're thinking of going Red Sea Max, because of price.

When I had FW I ran into the same thing with the snails. They can multiply pretty fast. Your LFS should have some. Had-A-Snail

Get a clown loach. It will eat them right up.

Don't get a RSM...for the price you could get a nice Finnex tank
Check out the Finnex M-Tank on the home page under Product Radar !

MUCH better deal for the $. Built in fuge/light and a much better skimmer than the RSM

Use some copper sulfate.. It will kill them.. Snail -X or some product with copper for freshwater ich will kill them. Now if you keep loaches be careful. But there where several meds made to kill/control snails in F/W tanks its just copper

Aquariums: Premium Aquatics

Its a bit smaller, but you can get a 20G w/ a 250W Metal Halide for less than the RSM costs.
