Every once in awhile I get a tiny spray of micro bubbles in my DT. I have a supreme mag 7 pump. What could be causing this? If I had micro bubbles in my sump they would be a steadily spraying in my DT so why is this only in spurts every 20 seconds or so?

If a big bubble got into your pump's intake every once in a while, that would explain it.

could the level in your sump be low enough to cause the pump to create a vortex thus sucking in air? mine does it when the sump is low

Sounds like an accumulation issue within the pump. It sucks in an infintesible amount of air which accumulates inside until the bubble gets big enough and it get blown apart into microbubbles in flow and it comes out in a burst.

I'd look very closely at your pump to see if any bubbles are reaching the intake.... Very closely.
