Questions regarding water filters

Hello, I have some question regarding water filters. I narrowed down my options to two of them. One with an Infrared stage while the other one has UV. I do not know which is best. Also, I get to pick which type of tank/container. The first one looks sturdy while the other one is transparent and very thin.

I was told that the latter is very fragile and breaks easily. I hope you got some answers for me. Thanks for reading.

P.S. I do not know if this is the site/forums to ask about those filters but I have been searching google for sites that can answer my questions without luck. Currently, I live in a third world country and the water here tastes weird. Also, it has a horrible smell. So, the only option is getting an RO water filter.
