Hey climber.. I have the 125 version of that wet/dry..Its not a bad filter. but keep the pre-filter and filter pad very clean so you do not build up nitates from the gunk settling into the bio-balls..I am curently changing over to a diy sump/fuge to add some more room /filtration.what will you have in your tank? FO,REEF,etc..OH one more important thing is make sure you do not get a build up of air bubbles in the u-tube on the over flow.this will happen from time to time and you dont want to break siphon...I found a sweet spot with mine and havent had many if any bubbles build up....I went with a stronger return pump than what it came with and it made a big difference..hope this helps a bit....

i also have the 125 version, i use a rio 2100 and have not had any issues with losing a siphon, i clean all sponges and pad every week, great filter, oh and i also have a 15 gallon fuge before the wet/dry, catches all the heavy stuff first.

Well I want to have a combination of Coral and Reef Friendly fish. I started the hobby about a year ago and I feel that the shop I went to sold me lower end filters/skimmers since I was a beginner and he didn't want to scare me off with the prices. Now that I know more about keeping a tank, I am almost starting off from scratch. I was using tap water for the longest time and I kept finding large amounts of grass algae and my tank windows had to be cleaned almost every day. After much research I found out I have a phosphate level of almost 5.0 and that is feeding the algae so I ordered a RO machine which came in yesterday so once I start doing some water changes, that problem should get better. With that being said, I want a better skimmer and filter too and the ProClear came highly recommended from a few sources.
