I have a tank with two corner overflows... the right side is not draining and is backing up...

It's like it has air in the line... it's been running fine for years (3+ years) and I've never had this problem before...

Any help is appreciated. I just don't know what to look for or how to solve it... I really don't want to have to take the whole thing apart...

    Thanks!

    Will

Have you tried turning up your return pump? I have no idea, but maybe if the flow was greater it would push the air bubbles out of the tubing....

I don't know! Sounds plausible to me :)

all accounted for... I only have two trochus snails...

I guess it could be a hermit, but that hermit would have to have some skills to get into the standpipe.

I'm running at max flow already...

I guess I should have mentioned before that when I cut off the pump, it gurgles a bit on the right side after it all drains out... when I start it back up, it acts as normal for a little while, then slowly the level in the right overflow rises to match that of the tank water. It's draining some, but really slowly compared to the left side.

I am afraid you will have to take it apart one section at a time. Logic tells you it is a gravity fed open pipe to your sump...SO something is clogging it. Can you shut the pumps down, and blow air from the pump side towards the top? Maybe will blow it out, or at least confirm the clog.

Also check all hoses for kinks..unless you have plumbed it with PVC.

just a thought ...Maybe a small drain snake might help remove the clog with out having to dismantle the hole thing.
