I thought I would share a side affect of the design of the Neo Nano aquarium: the unique water return ramp not only creates a silent waterfall-like return, but also turns into an ATS filter under a halide pendant. I turned the sump pump off and snapped some better pics of my tank last night and took a couple of my weekly routine, harvesting the algae off the ramp with a Tupperware container. Hey missionsix - you were right!

I would take it as a good thing. Algae on the waterfall is better than rocks and glass

I do... although I can't say with numbers what the benefit breaks down to be.

It makes it easier to remove the algae but it isn't any easier on the eyes than if it were on the rocks. Does it look that bad when the water is running?

I don't really notice it until it gets really thick.
