would this make it so it can support a larger tank size, say like a 46, i'm looking at the mp20 when i have the money, but if 1800gph would be enough to support a tank my size ill just get that

It depends what type of corals you are planning on keeping and if you would be using other pumps to supplement flow. How long is your tank?

i would like to get into mainly an lps and sps tank, but for now i will be concentrating on softies, and tank is 3 feet long. I could keep one of my mj 1200s in there if that would up the flow, i currently have 2 mj 1200 and it's just not enough flow for my tank

I think it would work very well. My tank is also 3 feet long. I have my return pushing some pressure from the other side of the tank and that helps create some great wave patterns. The MP10 alone would give you nearly 40x turnover per hour so with the MJ added on and return if you have one you would be right in SPS range.

sweet! glad you posted this, sure saved me a lot of money. And if i don't have a return would it still be ok with the mp10 and mj 1200 for SPS. Now i just have to get my credit card down so i can buy one :D

You should be right at the bottom edge of whats recommended for SPS, but with the wave action the MP10 puts out I think you will be ok.

cool, it will be much easier for me to spend $200 on the mp10 than $300 on the mp20. Or should i just get the mp20 since it barely makes the cut for the sps
