i am building a coil off a thread here, and i got a couple of questions?
    gravity feed or pump?
Can you make one two big?
and the real problem...would ABS glue release toxins into the water. I know red hot blue glue is good. but i have ABS cement LO-V.O.C. made by Oatey. Am i going to have problems using this? if so, what would you recommend to seal ABS

I have a pump on mine and when I bult mine, I used PCV glue/cement and I let water flush through it ( about 5 gallons) to get the "bad" stuff out.

good I was hoping you would say that.

Kind of, but instead of the PVC on the label it was ABS. It was on the same shelf as the PVC glue.

Guess that would depend on how high your nutrient level are.

ABS Glue is different from PVC glue. ABS is used in sewer lines, and as such has much more potent additives to keep it from deteriorating. I would recommend using PVC glue. Although the proof is in the smell, the VOCs that come off ABS will literally last for weeks, and PVC can be used in drinking water applications (well at least in California's Building Code) :)

    Hope it helps,
    -G

+1 on the glue. Any type that is approved potable should be fine.
