Took me a while to get them adjusted. I finally found that the more secure the motor housing is the better. I finally just bolted the housing to the top of the tank and all has been going very well since. The real beauty is that you can really disperse additives, food, phyto etc. very evenly and quickly. The flow patterns are really varied in strength but predictable in the tank so you can place coral from very high flow to very low quite easily. Mike at Wave 2K is a great guy and will answer any questions. These can be made to order as well.
Not much. I have only had to change the drive belt once in 2 years. The only other adjustment is to the tension of the belts. There are two wingnuts that hold the motor to the bracket that attaches to the tank. Over time maybe once every 2-3 weeks you need to tighten the wingnuts and insure that the motors are maintaining the correct tension. If the tension gets out of wack you know right away. Usually it makes a squeeking noise not unlike you car belts just not as loud. Correct the tension by sliding the motor away from the pully, tighten the wingnuts and you're good to go.
Nope. No special set-up at all. There are suction cups on the back that really hold it in place. There is a screw that is at the top of the submerged box that the directions warn you never to touch. It is an adjustment knob that they set at the factory that determines the amount the plunger goes up and down. I have had absolutely no trouble with it at all.
