| | Aiptasia Anemone | i was interested myself in the pumps when they first introduced the idea...excess pump heat outside the tank, able to position the pump anywhere using magnets. the main problem is you can't direct water flow as you would with a powerhead (swivel). it is new technology and you do get what you pay for, i'd say wait about six months and they'll probably come down in price. |

| ya...im going to guess that they are really supplemental water movement? i mean...because of that lack of flow direction that will be quite hard to use as the only sorce of movement |

| | Aiptasia Anemone | it is a very cool device, i'd think you'd have to place a couple in the tank to provide the intended amount of flow necessary for random water movement. if you go to this link http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/cat...roducts_id=422, they have a short video to show you what it is capable of. check out the surface agitation...another cool thing about the pump is that it is adjustable (a claimed 100-3000gph), with that amount of available flow i believe it could be your only source of water movement, not many powerheads or pumps can do that. they also are in the midst of developing a controller to allow for wave simulation. cheers.

| To the best of my knowledge the voritech are more energy efficient than the tunze. My major beef with the Tunze is there HUGE. I own two SEIO and Tunze are even bigger than them. I don't like all the powerheads in the tank but still want more flow.
That and for $300 you think the tunze would come with decent mounting bracket. Technically if your comparing apples to apples you would have to tac another $40 on the the tunze to get the magnet mount. |
