You need to know the head(height) the water will be going. Eheim are known to be quiet but the biggest one they have is 900gph at 0' head. I have an Iwaki and Panworld and their both make a humming noise but for external are not that bad.

_________

90 gallon tank with center overflows, 44 gallon custom sump/fuge, Tek T5 retrofit 4x54 bulbs, Reef Octopus nw200 protein skimmer, Iwaki WMD40RLXT return pump (changed to panworld 100pxx),Knop c ca reactor, PA light house controller.

^^ Testing it out! Ill add more param.. later.

Like reef_guru mentioned on the other thread you need to know how much water is coming down through the overflows into your sump. Head is the amount of length (usually in feet) that the water has to travel upwards (you calculate from the bottom of the sump to the top of the return tube).

Ive had my panworld for about 6-7 months and its worked fine. But again with external your usually going to have noise due to the fans.

in the tank there are two overflow with four holes together. after doing some research, i found that both eheim and pan world are the good choice that i should get, since you have experience with them, would u let me know how good these run?
so 1200 gph flow?

So you have 4 bulkheads? Two for overflows, and two for return? Are the bulkheads on the bottom glass (drilled tank) or do you have an overflow box?
