As far as cycling, if you can get a hold of some sand from another established reef tank, your cycling process will be alot faster. As far as diatom, those will be gone soon once the bacteria take controll. Skim alot and don't over feed. Use some phosphate remover too if you have it.
The funny anemonies might be mojanos, or aptasia, you can get rid of it with some joe's juice. Get rid of them now before they take controll of your tank. if theirs not too many you can take the rocks out and scrape/cut them off at the base making sure to take a little of the rocks with it so you dont cut into the anemonies,because if you leave a little flesh behind, they will come back.
