Default Permeate pump?

Anyone have a permeate pump on their RO system? Pros? Cons? Is it worth the money?

I read through a search that you must have a pressurized canister to use one. This would suck as I have yet to find a canister large enough to store the amount of water I'd like to, seems like most of them are designed for home drinking systems, not aquarists with multiple tanks to do WCs in every week.

I have a R/O system but it doesnt have a pump, but it did come with a pressurized 3gal tank. Im not an expert on R/O's but if you get a faster membrane to process the water, maybe you dont need a pump. I think? Do more research. You can ask docters Foster and Smith, they have helped me before when I had tech. questions.

Well, some of the supposed perks of it are faster, cleaner water, and wastes 80% less water. A faster membrane would just give me dirtier water in a bit less time.

the pump basically uses the brine or water water to increase the pressure to force the water through the R/O membrane and that makes the membrane more efficient this is the reader digest version it can get far more technical But with the use of the R/O for a simple aquarium water source then I'd pass on the pump .. Its more for large use applications and whole house systems.to use the rejection water to increase the filters efficiency.

My reasoning besides efficiency and saving water was to be able to fill 5gl jugs faster than 75 or 100gpd. I don't have a spot for a 30+gl reservoir so WCs take up most of my sunday just waiting on 20gl worth of water I can't store right now. I can store about half of what I use every week.

I guess this pump isn't my answer, I'd still need a pressurized reservoir anyway. I might as well auto top a rubbermade if I can make room somehow.
