| Noisy external overflow. Cant sleep!!! Hey guys. I haven't posted in a while, have been busy with finals and whatnot. Anyways, I have recently put an external overflow box on my tank. At first it was gurgling pretty bad so I put the gurgle buster on it which works like it should. Now my problem is that the water draining from the overflow is still making a lot of noised as it falls into output tube. No gurgling but sounds like a waterfall. I am still using soft tubing for the plumbing and I dont know if its possible for this noise to be quieter (I hope it is because I sleep in this room) but if anyone has any input it would be greatyly apprciated. Any questions just ask. Thanks.
Mike

| Switch to hard PVC. That way you can plumb it so it goes down into the sump, do a 90 degree angle so it goes horizontally, then another 90 degree angle so it goes up. It's what I do and it works great. _________ 125 Gal Reef. | The hard pvc pipes does work, but the trick is to be able to get an "even" flow. the more turns(elbows) you have, the more the flow gets restricted. I hope I made sense.
