Aqua c remora is an excellent skimmer, very easy to use, plug the powerhead in and there you go. The only adjusting is how high u move the cup considering the type of skimmate you want. Clean every 3 -4 mnths with water and vinegar..voila! The company is amazing to. The now make an Aqua c Remora Nano. J&L Aquatics has them.

Are you running a sump? You will want to run carbon as well.

+2 Nemo..I love my Remora hob great skimmer! I've been thru 3 different ones till I bought this one. Pulls a lot of gunk out!!!!!!!! VERY easy to use! I bought the one with the hole on the side so I can tube it to a one gallon container. I clean the collection about every two weeks and watch the gunk accumulate in the jug.

I have a Jebo and a SeaClone sitting here in pieces you wanna buy them from me? All you need is the pump. Started out with a ViaAqua multi skimmer, recommended by the lfs when I set up my tank. JUNK I SAY, ALL JUNK!!!!!!!!!! Mine never worked right, any of them. The Remora works!

coralifes are great. get the 65 gallon version. its always nice to have a stronger skimmer and they wont tear up your budget. i hear remoras are nice too but personally don't have one. It's your call

you need a filter i prefer aquaclear and a skimmer.any hob skimmer will do for your size tank.well almost.skilters are junk.coralife, remora,i have a prizm, its a bit loud but works.if you wanna go all out,get an overflow and a sump and put your skimmer in the sump.look up refugiums, theres lots to learn.

Should I get a surface pre filter box. This is what they said about them: the Surface Pre Filter Boxes help the skimmer to skim the dirtiest water from the surface of the tank. This will increase performance and can remove stray microbubbles from the return water. Surface Prefilter Boxes are sized for each pump option (ie Maxijet 1200, Rio 800, Mag 3 and Rio 1400 pumps). Its only 28 dollars more.
