Re: Need new filter If you want to go with a canister you can also try a Fluval 404. I've owned 2. One is one my 72 Fowler and one was on my old 130 Fowler. I had it running for around 3 years with no problems before the tank broke. The 404 on my 72 is about 18 months old. Oh, I also ran/run Rainbow Lifeguard fluidized beds on both tanks so the Fluval was purely for mechanical filtration. You can Ebay them for around $100.
