Thumbs up Maxi Jet powerhead IMPROVED!

So I went to my LFS, complaining about not having enough flow in my tank. I have a Koralia and that does a pretty good job but my maxi jet- which i originally bought for my nano just wasnt cutting it in the 75 gallon. So the owner at the LFS gave me an attachment for the maxi jet. Its made by eco mod. He said the regular maxi jet will go through 200 gallons per hour whereas this new atttachment increases it to 2000 gph!! This thing is awesome. Pretty inexpensive too. I got mine for 20 bucks, way better than spending the money on a whole new powerhead. If you have a maxi jet thats lacking flow, i definetly recommend this. It kicks some major a$$!!!

_________

75 gallon:1 Niger Trigger, 1 Longnose Hawkfish,1 lawnmower blenny,1 orangespotted goby, 2 cleaner shrimp, 4 peppermint shrimp, 1 pistol shrimp, 1 emrald crab, 20 hermits, 5 turbos, 12 mexican turbos and 1 brittle star. And a ton of sandsifting snails. Leather toadstool, frogspawn, 2 pulsing(not really they quit pulsing) xenia, flavia, anthelia, a colt, a goniopora and a rock full of zoas.

Do you think the Ecoflow will help me with my cyano problem? I've definitely got a flow problem in the corners of my tank that seems to be directly related to my lack of flow. I've got a 55 gallon with two MJ 1200's. I've also heard a lot of good things about the SureFlow mod.

_________

Tank:
55 gallon w/10 gallon sump
60 #'s of Fiji LR/2" live sand bed
4-54W T5 HO-1 Sun-6000K, 1 Aquablue-11000K and 2 Actinic/Blue Plus
AquaC Remora skimmer
2 MaxiJet 1200powerheads

Livestock:
2 False Percula Clown
1 Yellow Tang
1 Coral Beauty
1 Firefish
1 Cleaner Shrimp
15 Nassarius Snails
5 Cerith Snails
20 Margarita Snails
10 Astrea Snails

I love the new attachment for my mj. It has definetly taken care of almost all of my cyano. I did a water change(with a vaccum) yesterday and that took care of the rest. Make sure you are using RO water as that can also make a big difference. I learned that first hand. But the new attachment is awesome, if you have a flow prob I would definetly recommend it. It took me alittle bit to find correct placement but it works wonders!

I done this mod about 8 months ago and use it for mixing salt as I don't like to have any motors submerged in my display tanks water. Mixes really well as I keep 45g made up in case of an emergency.

I'm starting to worry about the amount of flow in my tank. I don't think the MAG7 with the SCWD is doing enough. I'd prefer not to have any powerheads in the tank, but I need SOMETHING. What size Maxijet do you have this mod on?

_________

20 High (started 5/18/06)
20 lbs live rock and 3" sand bed - Remora w/ MJ1200 & Prefilter - 10 gallon sump/fuge - MAG7 & SCWD return - 65W 10,000K PC - 15W Actinic - Red-legged Hermits - Cerith Snails - Nassarius Snails - Royal Gramma - 6line Wrasse - Maroon Clown - Wheeler's Goby - Bubble-Tip Anemone - Green Star Polyp - Button Polyps - Frilly Brown Mushroom - Green Bullseye Mushroom - Kenya Tree Coral
