| I've been hearing a lot of good things about these Koralias lately. How do they provide erratic current? Do they cycle on and off by themselves?

| You can't use them on a hard start wave maker.. They will shear the impeller's lock pin. Not to mention the clicking and clacking every few mins. _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |

| So they provide great flow, but not necessarily an erratic current. |

| I think the koralia is looking alot more feasible for me moneywise (college students do need to eat, lol), so i shall explore that option further.
Also I was wondering if you could elaborate on this post a little further?
Will getting rid of the wheel get rid of helpful bacteria that my tank needs? My filter is a double cartridge so how will i run charcoal and floss alternatively? (and why do i need to?) Just curious
,
"If your bio-wheel filter still has the wheel on it I would remove the wheel. The wheel will eventually build-up all sorts of nitrates. You can still use the filter by running floss and charcoal alternatively (one time floss, next time charcoal, next time floss, etc..)."
