Help with Filtration on a new 55g

Just starting and have a 55g wanting to make it saltwater and fish-only. For filtration what is better? 3 Powerheads or a or a Penguin 350B Power Filter, which is by marineland and a hang on the back bio wheel. If the Power Heads are the better route how should I arrange them?????

The powerheads are for flow. If the tank is not reef ready, I'd go with a good canister filter. You can keep your tank closer to the wall and not have to worry about the HOB filter splashing on your wall.

bio wells are essentially bio balls, nothing wrong with them.

let us know what kind of saltwater set up you want. as far as filters go personally id go with a sump with bioballs. that way you can have you heater and stuff in the sump and out of the display tank. but to better help you we would need to know what you want to put in the tank.

I agree, bio wheels are not bad. Besure if you do use a canister filter that you keep it clean.
