Re: fluval question As long as you always clean/replace the filter and don't let it go it is OK. I use my Magnum 350's all the time and have 0 nitrates but if you overfeed and the waste gets sucked in the filter if not cleaned out it will cause high nitrates. Most say that if you have a good skimmer and plenty live-rock and a DSB than that is all you need for taking care of the nitrates.
