| External pumps Anyone care to offer up suggestions on external pumps? I'm looking for something QUIET that can pump around 1000gph for my 90 gal. Approx 4' of head pressure with one 90deg elbow that could (and prolly will ) be switched to a 45. I'd like to keep it under 300$
Thanks all |

| The Mag Drive pumps are my favorite and reasonably priced. They are very durable, competitively priced and quiet. I use them for my return pump from my sump and to power my Aqua C ev180. _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. | Go with the Iwaki styled external mag drive pumps. Iwaki, Pan-World, PW's clone the coral-life. All great pumps. I don't trust the gaint powerhead style pumps as a return pump any more. I think they lock up more frequentily. |

| I have the coralife version of that same model. Still made by panworld. Quiet for a fan cooled pump, cool, and as reliable as a sun rise. I had it for a year. Vinegar soaked the pump head once. So far perfect. |

| | 3reef Moderator | Blue line are very nice as well. Plus they consume very little power.
How about Sequence Darts or Hammerhead LOL

| Bluelines are Pan-Worlds. I think the sequence makes real sweet pumps but most of the them are to big for most of us. I got to see a Seq hammerhead first person when i went to buy frags pretty quiet for a 5000GPH pump. Big mother though! |

I have 2 Hammerheads running my tank. I think they are quieter than a Quiet one 300 I used to run on a skimmer

| I would go wth the Pan World pumps also! I'm currently using the 100PXX for my closed loop. Had a Mag 9 before and hated the noise and heat.
