Is this for a fish-only or reef tank?
It is a very good filter but you would get more mileage from a real sump that you could put hardware in for the price.

this would be for a reef tank. Right now i have the eheim ecco and wanted to upgrade. Would it okay if i continued to run the ecco with the wet/dry? Or would that be over filtering?
