I have asked the same question before here, and I was told that they are a waste of money and do not work at all.

I can't remember who told me that they had taken one apart at a local LFS and found an empty PVC tube with nothing inside it.

Just a gimick I suppose

Me and the Tangster were just talking about that empty pvc tube with magnets taped to it.
Kylekin - I'd put a skimmer in a sump, but not directly in the fuge. There are quite a few good threads in the skimmer section to read through.

Bodie was just here getting some stuff and snake oils and how people think about think get what they pay for and the old eco aqualizer name came up (: Cut that fancy heat shrink label off of the PVC 80 Schedule pipe and all you will fine in that magic bullet is a section of pipe with 2 end caps and the barbed slip stubs to push the tubing on to then the magic part is they wrap/black tape some magnets to the pipe and the water just passes under the magnets.
I bet a LFS guy in Richmond years ago what he had in that case of magic bullets he did not believe me.. He gave in took the bet and we cut it open and thats all it was he was a tad pissed .. all that money for 24 stubs of pipe some tape and flex refrigerator magnets raw materials worth ? I'll offer anyone here the same bet if you buy it take it apart and find anything more then what I just siad I'll pay you back and give you a 100.00 if it what I say it is you pay be the 100.00 Its worth 2.00 maybe 3.00 including the black elect tape and it was a lousy tape job as well he did 5 of them that day LOL he would never sell crap like that .. Ill see if I can find a picture of the thing.
Its not easy getting to be an old dog (:
P/M me about a skimmer I may be able to get you a Red Sea Berlin classic ?
