I have a tank just shy of 19 gallons or so that I was going to turn into a fuge/sump. but the thing is the positioning of my tank.. it's sitting on a bar that seperates the kitchen from the dinning room.. since it's base housing carving and customizing the drawers is a nono... the sump/fuge is going to sit next to the main tank just cocked sideways and between the main tank and the wall so they will be sitting on the same surface.
basically i am thinking of scooting the main tank and putting the sump right where the coil denitrator is and working it from there... again like I was worried about, I dont know if I could pick up the algae around here for it.

the Hexarings were picked up at a LPS called PetBox and they go for... 698 yen.

I am having a hard time figureing your flow rate and setup, do you have a rough drawing (a crayon on a piece of paper, and picture taken of it would work for me.. lol)

ok, its a regular tank thats basicly divided in half. one half is the intake drain that passes through a filter pad, the bio balls, passes through a long black sponge. The return pump, skimmer and carbon are on the other half of the tank. And this is where I want to put the coil denitrator.

Sorry, short of being on the island I couldn't tell you where to get them. I tried to google em when I first got em and couldn't find em at all. 698 yen is about 6.50$
these things are 14mm by 15mm, porous and actually pretty light weight.
if you have a web translator the adress on the bag is NISSO 株式会社ニッソー 〜観賞魚用水槽、電気器具、店舗用什器等の製造・販 売など〜

they are a lot cheaper than bioballs here.. those run 15 bucks for a small box. lol
