I am wondering can anyone explain to me what idea of the stock skimmer that comes with the nano cube. I have had the air driven ones before will the one that comes with the cube cut it???

why bother skimming a nano when a cpl gallon water change will fix it.i mean maybe if your just curing rock in there but otherwise save your money.

You don't really need a skimmer for a nano. Water quality is maintained through water changes. The old skimmers that ran with an air stone are not that efficient. There are a few skimmers on the market that will fit in the back compartments of the cubes. Sapphire used to make one but have ceased for the time being. Depending on the particluar nano you have take a look at the AquaC Nano.

It's ok to be crazy - just don't let it drive you NUTS!!! JB

It just a surface skimmer...It keeps the water surface from looking scummy.. I used mine faithfully... It holds in place from vacuum of the water going into the grating... Keep the teeth of the skimmer level with the top of the grate.. After time and coraline buildup, I superglued mine in place.... Plus when shutting down the pump, it kept it from falling to the bottom of the tank...
