Default best way to secure a power head

How do I get my power heads to stay in place?
They keep building white stuff on thesuction cups, and eventually end up falling into my sand and causing all sorts of a mess.

I currently have them propped up on rocks, but I would like to get them back to their proper dept and angle.

The magnet holders are a little pricey but WELL worth it! There are enough things that can go wrong with our tanks that I was tired of the little suction cups wreaking havoc on mine.
