| Anyone have one of these yet? VorTech Propeller Pump ?? Does anyone have one of these yet and if so is it quiet? Champion Lighting & Supply :: Pumps :: VorTech :: VorTech Propeller Pump
I have a MaxiJet I modified but it make just a little noise every once and a while, got all kinds of flow. I like the this VorTech because the motor is on the outside so no wires hanging down in the tank. A lot of $$$ but may be worth it. _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)

| Those are real expensive. Especially considering the new ones coming out that are pretty affordable. Matt posted a thread about the Hydor Koralia Centrifugal PHs. I think I would just wait for those. Someone posted a link to a site selling them too here

| I just bought a tunze nanostream a couple days ago. And even though the motor isnt on the inside the wire isn't that much of a problem. These PH are so adjustable that you can just stick it up top so you don't have wires hanging all over but you can aim it downwards or where ever you want. Something you cant really do with a regular PH. I'm not sure i would pay that price for a powerhead just cause the motor in outside the tank, it would have to gold plated and diamond studed . But thats JMO

Marc. | Once you set the angle is it holding that after a few days. I have a fear that it will move over time once the system has run for a while and I would have substrait blown all over the place My MaxiJet that I modified moves a lot of water but is awful big inside the tank. I may just use it to baster the rock before I syphone the sand on water changes. Thanks for your posting your experience with the Tunze. How much did you pay for it?? |

| Its been in the tank for 2 days now and doesn't seem to be moving at all. I have the smaller model, they have some with higher GPH. I paid 80$ but thats in Canadian. Si i don't know how much they sell them for in the U.S.

| That sure sounds better then around $300 for one. I am heading to Premium Aquatic this next saturday because they are only 50 minutes from my house to go through the warehouse we they open to the public on saturday. I will be looking at these while I am there along with things I need to make a sump. Going to toss in my canister for a sump in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for the reply! |
