They came in a little bag with green water. I dumped the water into my refug. Of coarse they are so small you can't see them. well last night I was looking at the refug and saw what looked like a tiny flea scoot across the sand. I thought what in the world was that. I got the flashlight and could several tiny bugs scooting around on the sand. Tiny little things, pretty fast too. Is this the reef pods? I have never had them before. They sure are weid looking. I dont know what it is, if it ate the snail that used to be in that shell. I know the shell was not there when I went to sleep. i tried to grab it but only got a piece of it as you can see i the last photo.... It did move pretty quick, and wasnt bothered by the flashlight I was shining on it. So does anyone have an ID on this? I am off to go look at reef hitchhikers to see if I can find anything but I will be back shortly.

i will let the water double in the bucket then remove some of the water in the bucket then start again.i will do this for around 1hr 30mins - 2hrs

My 1st question is I have 2 female lyretail anthias's in the tank already, what would most likely happen if I threw in a Male? The LFS said that there hit and miss like one time they put him in with one female and they were fine and put him with like 8 more and they were fine and the other time they put in another male in a different tank with 8 females and he killed them all off. Basically I am asking is this a typical thing?

Im running a 10k and an actinic on my 40 breeder and there starting to dim. A friend of mine has a Current USA Sundial T5HO that he wants to sell to me for $150. I have a bunch of softies that im worried i might burn out with the T5 and I have two forgspawn which Im not sure will grow under my PC. What do you think? Should I upgrade/ would it be safe? I was able to pick up a 75 gallon tank, sump, stand, lights, hood, skimmer, filter, etc on E-bay, so I am very excited. My plan is to cycle the tank for >month the first week in April. Question; the seller included a 50 gallon bucket of "live" sand, it is very wet in a large bucket. Will this still be "live" even though it has been sitting out of the tank in a dark closed bucket for a month? I would really love to use it without having to clean it and dry it. Even if it is no longer "live", could I still put it in my tank and just reseed it? There shouldn't be any danger since I am cycling my tank, right?

I already have about 35 lbs of base rock from various Caribbean vacations and the former owner of my tank and I will be purchasing 40-50 lbs of live rock. Is this enough? It's so damn expensive, after all it is....rock. The live rock should seed the base rock, right? These will be the first of many questions, so thanks in advance.
