Man I hate to hear that Otty. Do you think the stress was caused by chemical war in the QT tank or do you think it was because of the infestation? Are you even goign to loose that big acro Tangster and Annick sent out?

Well man look on the bright side, I've got frags of about 50 to 60% of what you had so when you're ready they'll be waiting for you. The longer you wait the bigger they'll be!!!

Damn Otty I feel so bad for you and they way that tank was coming along .. I'll send you some stuff after the storm settles a bit N/C (: Like I told the boss the other day about with all the coral frag swapping and moving corals all over they tend to spread faster then ever.. Damn thing about it is most don't no they have a problem ): Hell you saw the quarantine system I built from tanks to stand and V/V and Dell Zone ozone generators . Thats also Why I built the custom tanks low and wide so I can see it all in the water column. I was never one to run a quarintine system but now !!!! Everything from a outside source will vist there first.

I set the big staghorn out in the sun so it would bleach and I will use it for decoration. Thought things were going well but I forgot one major factor....QUARANTINE!
Thanks for the offer Tangster, this tank will stay acro free for a while to make sure they have all hatched and died. Been thinking about picking up a UV and running it for a while just to zap things that shouldn't be there.

Wish you lived a little closer, don't think the frags will make it in a saddle bag that far....

You find a good price on the Ozone yet???

Well Otty I hate to say it but I might be in the same boat you are.

The only thing that gets me is I didn't see any eggs on my monti cap when we were inspecting it last night. I hope the "dead" spot on the bottom of the cap is where it's been resting on a rock... I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse or stays the same...

That's probably because the eggs cannot be seen with the naked eye. I can't see the adult nudibranchs without a magnifying glass, let alone their eggs!

Otty and I both looked at it with a magnifying glass and didn't see any worms or eggs. The only thing we saw that alarmed us was a few dead spots on the bottom of the cap.

Could this be from it resting on a rock? I hope that's it and nothing more serious. None of the corals show loss of tissue around the base...

Oh sure. If that part of the coral was sitting on the rock blocked from the light, than most likely, it's just a dead or bleached spot, not an eaten spot.

I know this isn't a cure but the blue-striped nudibranch preys on red planarian flatworms and others....the problem is these nudibranchs only suppress the problem by minimizing the number of flatworms but eventually starve due to low numbers of flatworms....but everyone knows it only takes a few to reproduce and multiply....but this should help along with the dips

The guys on RC said that it works but is very expensive when you go looking at enough to do an 8 week quarantine. The Fluke Tabs smme to be working for me from what coral made the inital dip.
