I had just a few polyps on a piece of live rock I bought. They have exploded since and I probably have over 20 polyps in various locations now. I can't be sure if they were there (just small) or if they spread from the original polyps. With good lighting they should grow and spread though. Here is a couple pics of mine (progression)...   
A couple of them are almost quarter sized now.
Hope you see some good growth out of them. I sure enjoy mine...
