Default Zoanthid placement

I had placed a zoanthid I bought a few weeks ago on top of a rock. It has been doing well and some new shoots are growing. Tonight when I came home from work, I found it on the sand below. I'm guessing my lawnmower blenny may have knocked it down. Shouldn't the zoanthid have anchored itself to the rock by now? It's still attached to the small piece it came on but the colony goes well beyond that piece.

Hiya Jet,

Zoo colonies do slough off polyps now and then --- is one way they spread themselves around.
