yes,cold water will shrink more things than just xenia lol.xenia is sensitive to salinity change, hot water,and mine love seachem reef plus.i used to much a cpl times and caused hair algae though ,also i think they like 10,000k or lower lighting.oh and i also thin some out with a pair of clippers when they get to thick.they seem to be happier when i thin them out.

thanks for the research and input, folks! i've actually just recently switched my PC bulbs from 50/50s to 10,000Ks. Perhaps the old, weak 50/50s were making the xenia sad. My remaining colony seems to be holding on. And there's even some new growth at the base. Not quite time to do any pruning, but hopefully I'm on my way...

Yep, anykind of significant light change may have an adverse effect on them. But seems they are adjusting to new light environment...
