 |  What do mushrooms eat?
I recently inherited some red mushrooms for my tank (like today). What and how do I feed them? Can anyone help? Please? I have no experience... Thanks in advance.

55 gal glass tank, 2 power heads, wet/dry filter, protein skimmer, 50 lbs live rock, pair of tomato clowns, 1 royal gramma, 1 coral beauty angel, 1 six line wrasse, 1 peppermint shrimp, 1 skunk cleaner shrimp, 12 assorted snails (astrea/turbo), 15 assorted hermit crabs, green bubble tip anemone, red mushrooms, yellow polyps, 1 green leather, green star polyps, yellow toadstool |

They don't need feeding. The have symbiotic algae that provide nourishment.
I'm assuming you mean something like these

Shrooms are relatively easy. Medium light, low flow. No need to feed specially, they get their nourishment from the light mostly. Just try a spot in your tank (I would go somewhat low assume decent lighting) and give him a few days. If he doesn't open up, try a different spot until he does.

well, u dont have to feed them, but i still feed mine like once a month i put some brine shrimp on them and they eat it  _________ Tank Specs:

Yea... and I know people that feed silversides to their shrooms. I actually saw a mushroom trap a small fish once, it did it quite slowly, but it did it, the fish kept messing around in it and it started to ball upwards till it closed up with the fish on the inside. It was pretty amazing. | Most coralimorphs don't require any feeding. However, I think that you saw an Elephant Ear mushroom. Those definately require feeding or it will trap your fish.
