Im having trouble with my torch coral and my clam. I could see a little of the "lip" from the calm but not like before, The same with the torch. For the past week or so they havent come out like before. Every other coral is fine except these two. I just did a 25gal water change on Monday. If you look at my sign. you can see what livestock I have. My lights(MH & actinics) where last changed 7.15.07. I just tested my water and here are my results;

I also just changed out the chemi-pure(carbon) on Monady and the filter pads. I know some/most of you guys like to have some of those #'s a little higher but I like it that way for the most part. If you can think of something else that I may have missed, plz let me know. The only thing that comes to mind is maybe its time to change the light bulbs. From my test results, I cant figure it out. What could be wrong??? | Sorry about the Flame Scallop.
Its been my experience (and not a long one) Scallops need fed pretty regular to stay healthy. If you are spot feeding thats pretty tough as these guys seem to cram themselves into the rockwork almost anywhere. Because of this dosing planktons seems the only way and too much dosing leads to all sorts of problems. Got rid of mine ( no comments ) as he wasnt getting along with the carpet anemone. What a mess that was...stupid scallop stuck to the carpet...kept popping his shells together...damn anemone stuck all up my arm...midnight...tongs were stuck in there too...corals falling off rocks...glad no young kids in the house. |

It sounds like there might be a larger problem brewing. I know flame scallops are hard to keep, but in another thread you mentioned not being able to keep mushrooms. Do you think there is something else happening in your tank that might be a really big problem soon?
I just didn't want this to become a major problem. As a complete newb, I can't offer much help as I have been lucky and without any issues (except the bristle worms...just search for it), but I am sure if there is a problem someone can help here.

| Lunatik, I am really sorry for your loss. I know it is tough for me when I lose something from my tanks..
I have had a sick engineering goby, the smallest of the bunch for quite sometime now. We put her in quarantine when we noticed that she was not eating and started to show signs of bloat. I woke up this morning to find she had passed away. It is a bummer, she had so much personality, like engineering gobies do... _________ 72 gallon bowed 150lbs LR 60 lbs LS
