Could be bubble algae. Considered a nuisance.

I would try to get rid of it asap. I've got a rock that was removed and cleaned. It has since returned. I'd pull it out and clean it if possible. Emerald crabs have been known to eat it, but, I haven't had any luck with that. Some people like it in there systems though. I hate it. And yes, if they break they release a boatload of spores.

yeah man, thats what i thought.. well, fortunately their on a small frag, so im thinking i should remove the frag into a bucket and pull them off so to contain if they burst.. not sure ive never dealt with them before.. its actually a shame cuz theyre kinda pretty, but i can read now that i know what they are how aggressive they can be.. hmm, maybe ill start a "bubble algae tank"

Remove the frag, scrape it off and use a tooth brush to clean the rock, then rinse with some fresh salt water,, really good then put back in tank. If this isnt done you will have that bubble algae tank you always wanted!

I had one tiny peice of bubble algae that came in on some of my rock, bought an emerald green crab to give it a shot. The crab was the size of a dime and I thought it would never find that one peice of bubble alge... within 2 weeks it was gone!!
