Below is a picture of my plate coral I bought about 5 weeks ago . Though he was very happy and inflated constantly, the last week he has not inflated at all and his flesh has started to peel away in many locations. Is he dying? I have recently moved him to this new location you see him at in the below image because my diamond goby was partially burying him from time to time where I used to have him.
Can he still survive? Is there anything I should be doing to try and help him further? I also read if he does die, to leave him in the tank because his skeleton will sprout babies. Does anyone know how long I need to leave him to ensure it does have a chance to spawn its babies? Also, how will I recognize babies if it does have them?
Any help and advice is much appreciated.
Plate Coral Dying? 
I don't see you being able to save it at this point as its too far gone. I've never heard of plate corals "spawning babies" the way you describe it. I would pull it out of the tank so that it doesn't continue to pollute your water.
