| Congratulations on your anniversary!!
Do you know anything about Lemnalia? They prefer less turbid conditions than soft corals. They need moderate to strong water flow to prevent collapse of tissue and need a course substrate with which to attach.. Also, since they are symbiotic, they require moderate to strong lighting, since they are commonly found in reef flats. They are prone to parasites and may become irritated as certain crustaceans like to pick on them. Lemnalia are very toxic as far as their chemical defenses are concerned and are placed in the same class as Sarcophyton species of soft corals which are also in the "most toxic" category.
Just thought you should know this, because you may have a problem with your stony corals being affected by the toxins given off by your soft corals. _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. | Thanks coral reefer. I did my research and waited until my tank was mature enough. I told my husband that I wanted a red pineapple or a lemnalia. I have it near the bottom of the tank as it need low to moderate light not strong, (lighting depends on the coral that comes from Genus Sarcophyton family) and I have good water movement. It's doing well, it opens all the way everyday and all the polyps come out and open up as well. As far as it being toxic, I put new carbon in my prizm to control it. |
