| Mushroom problem. When my tank was freshly set.... cycling was over all my chems were in check I put this red musroom in the tank. In over a month it exploded... popped up new ones all over the place. The shrooms grew fast too... HUGE things. Then one day they stopped.... looked smaller..... some died....... they would be wrinkley in the day.... I just found out that Mike has this same problem, and his brother does too. Does anyone know why this would be? Shrooms do good then after a while just kind of fade out? They don't all die, but they don't do as well. _________ Wunlym Shim - Jamaica

| Look for stray voltage .. or just add a grounding probe They will take a tank over hence the term Tank roaches is what I call'em _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |

| Lunatic: Params are ok. I have checked everything in a while. I think I'll take a full check tonight. And for the bulbs. I have T5's and I just changed them last week thursday. And the shrooms are looking allot better...... But it could be allot of things cause it was a big maintenance thing...
Tangster: Yes stray voltage could be the problem.. I used to have a grounding probe... I'll drop it back in |

| I believe your problem resides in the fact that your nitrates are too low, also they will respond better to a higher pH! They seem to feed on disolved organics and will look more vibrant with the reduction of tinting organics like "Glebstoff"! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. | If by mushroom you mean the common (Actinodiscus) Mushroom or Mushroom Anemones , I have injected the pest with poisons and bleach to rubbing Alcohol to try and kill them. wilted up for a few days them right back.. Only thing I ever found to wilt them up for no apparent reason every so often But it still would not kill them was voltage.. Did you ever have the problem with the probe in the system ? or only after it was removed ? Test the voltage to see if there is S/Voltage then put the probe back in place.. If you have one why remove it ? it cost nothing to operate (: |
