I found that water flow is really important with my leather corals and toadstool. It was a night and day difference giving them good flow as they fully open out and look healthy versus look closed up and slime covered. I've had a good split with my leather coral and each piece now has doubled in size.

Think it is likely due to a toxin buildup in tank, not because general water params going sideways (which they don't)

I have a wide variety of softies and toxin release is a natural consequence of having so many different ones in such a small space.

Great indicator as water change does perk everything back up.

Amen to that I also belive that strong turbulant flow around these corals creates an ideal enviornment for them as is assists in the clearing of their mucus and waste...
OH and a 10% waterchange always makes my tankmates perk up
