May slump over for a few hrs or days ? _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |

| When I was first starting out, I could not not keep a colt alive, probably due to unstable water conditions. Supposed to be a pretty durable coral, but I went thru 3-4 of them. After about a year I tried again & now have them growing all over tank. (easy to frag, just cut off hunk and stick in hole in rock and off it goes) _________ AG "125," AquaC EV 180, 30 gal sump, "SCWD", 80 lbs LR, CoralSeaLife "Moonlite" Hood, PFO 250W HQI Mini-Pendant (SPS HQI 14000k bulb)
12 Gallon NanoCube - 24w stock PC 50/50 light "...nothing good ever happens fast in a reef tank, only bad things happen fast..."

| PS: they seem to be a medium light, medium flow creature. That is where mine do best. |

| All leathers do this when moved, touched, or anything is different in a tank. If the colt starts falling a part it's on it's way out. Don't confuse falling a part with sloughing. Leathers grow a shiny mucous on them and then the mucous sloughs away. I tried a colt once and it was droopy the first day, the second day it fell apart, what a mess. _________ 20g

Thanks | Depends on individual coral. You are going to have determine where it is "happiest"
As I said before, mine seem to like medium flow and medium light for best growth and extension.
Ones in low flow area do not seem to do as well as the others.
Too high a current may keep them from opening up.
Placing corals is often a trial and error process. |
