Colt corals require moderate water movement and lighting. You may want to dose with iodine as with any soft corals and inverts. They don't really have to be at the top of your tank unless you like it there. They will get pretty big over time as well.

I agree with reefer, they do get big. Mine got so big that there were deadspots with no water movement in it...which caused some sort of slime disease...i just had to cut alot of it....but now its ok. I would place it lower down so it has room to grow.

Type of hard coral: Soft coral
Diet: Carnivore.
Feeding: It likes to eat filter feeding invert food, Mysis Shrimp, micro-plankton a few times per week, when open..
Behavior: The Cladiella species is generally aggressive toward other tankmates.
Care: Many consider the Cladiella species a low-maintenance specimen.
Lighting: Has intermediate lighting needs.Symbiotic algae zooxanthellae are hosted within this organism.
Water flow: The Blushing Coral, Soft Finger Leather, Colt Soft Coral requires intermediate water flow.
General notes: Will sting other organisms near it, so give it space. Be sure to rinse off with clean saltwater before placing into aquarium to reduce slime runoff as this organism secretes a mucous during shipment. Can detach frags to reproduce.
Water parameters: Keep water quality high (SG 1.023 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Origin: The Colt Coral is commonly collected from Indo-Pacific.
