Does anyone know if a blueberry gorgonia is a hardy coral. I see them for sale on reefscience every week, they say their hard to find and very hardy. Is this to be true

General rule of thumb. Brown polyps on a gorg and chances are it's photosynthetic and it's needs can be met in captivity with some attention to detail.

Any color but brown, say white, orange, red, blue, purple, and the gorg is probably NONphotosynthetic and while it can be fed, in the long term (perhaps only months) it will simply wither away and die.

I say stay away. Just like Goniopora, it will die with time. Even photosynthetic ones need regular feedings of micro-foods. Not a hardy coral IMO. Any type of Gorgonia is hard to keep without special attention to it. They will die slow though, so it will take some time, but I say why get it if it's doomed.
