&&Right now I'm in the middle of a conversion from reef to Discus/ planted aquarium. Hair algae beat me down. Maybe a nano in the future. Everything screwed up so I'm converting to FOWLR. Wish me luck.

I also have had only 1 "loss" via on-line ordering :huh:. Vendor promptly gave credit for it when reported.

Most large (on-line) vendors have been doing this for a while and are very good at both packaging and insuring orders are shipped as expeditiosly as possible.

I suspect that far greater livestock "loss's" probably come from improper/insufficient "acclimation" (I had to learn this lesson also the hard way )

Don't skimp on "acclimation" >- the longer the better, even though you have to fight the urge to get them into tank as soon as possible. - some very good methods mentioned here on other threads, all of which I have closely followed and had great success with.

Very sad to think a beautiful living creature has made it half-way around the world from its original home, to a retailer - then shipped accross country to new owner - only to be "murdered" by poor handling at final destination. :'(

FWIW

Ditto:

1 = 1 fish (firefish goby)

("Saltwaterfish.com&quot

Note: free overnight shipping on orders >75$ (great place for inverts)

All my fish obtained thru mail from either here or liveAquaria.com

Note: Recmd, if given choice, always pay a little extra for larger fish - the "wee" ones are at much greater risk to movement & reacclimation shock...

If not a totally new tank - QUARANTINE!
