Default 2 Questions

1st, and I know this is going to sound dumb but, Matted Corals.... Is it a single organism or are each polyp on the mat its own organism. The reason I ask is some of the polyps rarely accept food on my Gonoporia. Others will eat every time I spot feed. Are the polyps eating benifiting the whole mat?

2nd What is everyone feeding their corals? The two corals I have to spot feed are my sun coral and my gonoporia.

This is a very interesting question. Coral is what we call a super organism. Each polyp is a seperate animal working together with the others for the greater good of the community. The reason why usually when a coral is touched, polyps around that area contract is because there is communication among the polyps.

As for feeding. For sun corals and gonoporias I think brine shrimp or plankton would be good. As for others BioPlankton or similar brand coral foods are good.
