Ditto above:

Also:

Xenia may be telling you it is time to change light bulbs.

They act this way when amount of light they are used to decreases.

(debris in water column? Salt creep on light covers?...overshadowing?)

Have heard of xenia doing this before!...???

Are the xenia melting or just shriveled up? Xenia tend to go through a period of unhappiness every once and a while...as long as there is no melting/disintegrating they should bounce back.

Xenia are very touchy in my opinion!! They look great for a period of time and all of the sudden they are gone!!!
Can be because of:
water parameter issues such as high water temperatures
changes in salinity
low amount of nutrients
something eating the zenia
sometimes, xenia will drop its polyps, then regrow them as well as I have found out!
add iodine?!
carbon periodically?

I agree that Xenia are very picky when it comes to water conditions...however, it does take quite a lot for them to actually kick the bucket.

mikemangue is on a roll

Default Xeinas Shrivling

It's kind of hard to say what may be the problem. What is the temperature of the tank? How much light do you have? What type of Xeinas do you have and what is the water quality like? Do you have enough water motion? Give us a little more info ok.
