Default My first Coral!!!

I picked up this coral from the LFS a few days ago. it was actually sold to me as a toadstool but i have a feeling it more of a devil's hand coral.

the first pic is right after placing. seems closed.

the second is the coral starting to open

the third you can see some polyps coming out to play.

Now the past couple of days the coral has not been extending its polyps but has been in the "closed" then soon after "open" positions. mostly open.

Not too sure if the coral is healthy or not or whether its normal behaviour.

its seems to have a purple coloring to it but i have noticed a few lighter grayish spots, maybe you can see from the pic.

Kinda new to the hobby so any info or input would be great.

most of what i find on net tells me that they are easy to keep and medium-high flow and light. kinda vague if you ask me.

thanx for confirming and yeah its great getting new coral but will the toadstool take a while to open?

and what do you think of me getting a brain coral for my second purchase a couple of weeks down the road? and maybe a ricordia or two

the guy at the lfs told me it takes a more experienced reefer.

Looks more like a devil's hand leather than a toadstool to me.

heres an update and MORE PICS!

im still somewhat confused but im also leaning toward a devil's hand. the coral is looking healthier and the polyps are showing more often now. the coral shed a layer of skin before the polyps decided to show, is this normal?

I couldnt resist my second purchase. i planned on just "looking" but temptations came over me when i saw a frogspawn with pink tips, its just a small frag but i feel like i got a deal for 14.99. It was the only frag of frogspawn they had so i had to do it.
