Default do I need to dose for soft corals?

Do I need to dose any chemicals/elements for soft corals? Should I be checking Ca, Mg, I, etc? Or is that only important with hard corals?

now there important to all corals.

its good to get into the habit of checking atleast calc for any corals i think.

but if your low on money you dont need to really do anything, as good saltmix should get you fairly close to the ideal parameters, and weekly water changes should keep your parameter close enough for soft corals. btw i wouldnt dose iodine unless you really know what your doing, it can kill inverts if overdosed.

I #1 that..

And it depends on what salt you start with..
I started with a salt more for fish.. Had alot of trouble getting it right for corals..
Yes check for cal and mag.. When you can.. I add stuff for filterfeeders..
Even tho your corals may not need it yet, learn to get and keep your water for them..
You never know when you'll run into a coral... You HAVE to have..LOL
And your tank will be ready for it..

Good Luck, Larry

Soft corals? No not really... Many softies do incorporate some Ca into their body but not much, water changes will replenish that.
As far as the other elements, I wouldn't be concerned.
Light is good, small phytoplankton will help also.
