Default disaster!!

My Sinularia flexibilis got caught in my filter today!! Im absoloutly gutted! The branch that got caught has been shredded a bit and the tips are turning black! Is the anything i can do to help him, or is he now doomed??

Just a pic to show how unhappy he is!! Not extended himself at all today - and you can see the tips that have turned black

_________

You will never know whats in my tank as i can only type 15 words

Thats an awful lot of black to be cutting off all at once, I am afraid if he cuts that much at once he might loose it, might want to take just the worst ones off and quarantine it in another tank or something with good filtration and watch to see if it spreads down the arms?

If it does then you got no choice but to cut, but if it doesn't then you have lost nothing. I know that they are very hardy but.....Just a thought.....

I would hack it off and dip in iodine solution and it should be alright I cut it out of my tanks all the time. you might also keep it in some dim light for a couple days.

hey! Good to hear! As suggested ,you could dip necrotic tissue in potassium iodate solution, just to be on the safe site... Good luck!
